2010 Topps Chrome Football – A Chromie’s Dream Come True?

As a self professed sports card chromie two of my perennial favorite products are Topps Chrome and Bowman Chrome. Although I wasn’t particularly impressed with either of Topps’ chrome baseball offerings from last year, 2009 Topps Chrome football was really hot. That made it all the more difficult to stomach a Topps-less football card industry. Thankfully we won’t have to as the NFL finally came to their senses a couple of months ago and renewed their licensing agreement with Topps. As a result football card collectors are in store for some fantastic surprises this year.

I am going to be all over 2010 Topps Platinum when it comes out, and may even throw down on a blaster or two of Topps Football, but my true focus will be on 2010 Topps Chrome Football. Topps released the details of this early October release yesterday and man it looks sweet.

The design looks smokin’, the checklist is stacked, and the new additions are plentiful. Not to mention that Topps Chrome will feature Bowman Chrome inserts! Yes that’s right – Batman and Superman are joining forces. The result will be perhaps the ultimate Chrome football card set.

If I can free up the funds I’m buying a case or a half case of this stuff. Here’s to hoping a Tim Tebow Chrome Auto RC is in my not so distant future…
