I’m Done With SportsBuy

I had high hopes for SportsBuy / Naxcom, I really did. When I first heard about them 3 years ago I was convinced that by now they would have eclipsed ebay as the marketplace of choice for buying and selling sports cards. Boy was I wrong. I came to terms with that over the weekend and closed my account for good.

Serious improvements are needed to their overall product database to make it just as easy to search as ebay is. They also need to allow sellers more chances to stand out by making sales more personal and allowing more distinguishing customizations to seller listings and stores. They also need to cut down their ever increasing fees and consolidate listings for the same card by making titles more standardized.

My focus will now be on giving CheckoutMyCards.com a try as I hear they are pretty good. However I’ve grown to actually like ebay more recently so no matter what I will keep most of my listings with them. I will update everyone about my experiences with CheckoutMyCards.com in the near future.
